Nintendo’s Top Dog Takes Luigi to America Prior to Release of New 3DS Title

Miyamoto Luigi

No doubt there to promote the release of new Nintendo 3DS game Luigi’s Mansion 2 (known as Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon in the West), Shigeru Miyamoto – the creator of Super Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong among others – was spotted hanging out with staff from Nintendo America in New York yesterday, not to mention looking exceptionally green. If only he’d arrived a few days earlier, this get-up would have worked pretty well for Saint Patrick’s Day, too.

Wearing a lime-green plumber’s cap and Luigi motif t-shirt, the legendary video game creator was seen playing a few rounds of Nintendo Land, a multiplayer-focused game for the Wii U console which features mini games based on Nintendo’s existing franchises and one that our own writing team took quite a shine to. Of course, wanting to keep Mario’s sibling at the front of everyone’s minds prior to the release of the new game, Miyamoto made sure that the staff stuck to the ghost hunt mini game in particular, which mimics many aspects of Luigi’s ghost house adventures.

Luigi’s Mansion 2 goes on sale in Japan today, and will be released in North America and Europe on March 24 and 28, respectively. Now if we could only track down enough of those caps so that the entire RocketNews24 team could wear them to work…

Good guy Luigi: Even picks you up at the airport!

NA2

That magical time of year when game companies throw themselves a giant party and start spilling family secrets like your drunk aunt is finally upon us. That’s right, E3 starts Tuesday! And all this week, excited fans will be glued to the blogs, chomping on the bits for new info from Microsoft, Sony, Ubisoft, and many other major publishers. One company that won’t be giving a massive, blow-all-the-fuses presentation, though, is Nintendo.

Even so, that doesn’t the company is skipping the event entirely.

In fact company president Satoru Iwata and legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto flew from Japan to Los Angles to take part. And who do you imagine met them at the airport?

None other than shy Super Mario Brother Luigi!

na1

And he wasn’t alone either, bringing along President of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime. Never ones to miss out on some good PR, Nintendo tweeted photos and a Vine video (available below) of their meeting.

We’re not sure where Mario was, but maybe Nintendo is keeping him on the benches in order to let Luigi enjoy his year: the Year of Luigi.

Some Japanese Nintendo fans were tickled by the video, poking fun at the (barely) rhyming of Reggie and Luigi.

Others had slightly different takes on the mini-event:

Yikes! Reggie is biiiiig! There’s almost no difference between him and the Luigi costume!

Nintendo is at the event? Maybe they’ll announce a price reduction for the Wii U.

Looks like a giant dildo…

The year of Luigi seems like it’ll be kind of…awkward.

I don’t know why, but it looks like a pregnant, irritated cockroach to me.

Green isn’t very popular… sure seems like red is number one.

Don’t mind the haters, Luigi! We’re rooting for you!

Japan takes notice of mad-muggin’ Luigi in Mario Kart 8

Screen Shot 2014-06-06 at 8.52.09 AM

Luigi has always played second fiddle to his brother Mario and it seems all those years of pent-up jealousy and anger have surfaced in Nintendo’s eighth edition of Mario Kart. Scores of English-language sites have already reported on what many are calling “Luigi’s Death Stare,” and all that news coverage has finally made it over to Japan, inspiring a multitude of comments by surprised Japanese gamers.

Here’s one video that’s been posted on several Japanese forums showcasing Luigi’s “take no prisoners” attitude:

Japanese netizens had a lot to say about the new Luigi:

“Finally Luigi has something other than his jumping strength to differentiate himself.”

“He’s so coooool!”

“That stare was more coldhearted than I had imagined!”

“Psychopath little brother?”

“It’s all going according to plan…”

“Usually Luigi is the timid, comical little brother, but seeing him put on such a serious face while crashing into his opponents is really funny.”

“He’s revealed his true nature.”

“I never thought Luigi could put on such a scary face.”

▼ NO MERCY!!!Japan takes notice of mad-muggin' Luigi in American Mario Kart 8 trailer

Most Japanese netizens enjoyed the new badass Luigi, but it’s still unclear how his new personality will translate into sales of the Wii U console that must be purchased in order to play Mario Kart 8:

“I guess if you have a talented older brother, you’ll turn to the dark side. Luigi has really lost his way. I’m definitely not buying a Wii U”

“Omg, I laughed so hard at Luigi. I’m going to buy a Wii U!”

To see Luigi grinning as he blows Peach to bits and not even flinching as he mercilessly takes out a smiling pink Toadette is a little sad. Gone are the days of happy Nintendo characters brushing off a collision with a high-pitched “oh no!” Because apparently, on the streets of Mario Kart 8, we play for keeps.

Mario AND Luigi team up for new infinite lives trick in Super Mario Bros. 【Video】

infinite 5

Super Mario Bros., the classic Nintendo game that spawned dozens of sequels and introduced millions of people to video games, has been around for some 29 years now. In that time, along with discovering every secret the game has to offer and performing dazzling speed runs, players the world over have hunted for increasingly creative and complex ways to rack up stacks of extra lives by “juggling” shelled enemies until the timer runs out.

There are a number of “infinite lives” secrets that we’re already aware of, but just last week a new video appeared online showing one that appears to be not just brand new, but one of the most complicated 1-up discoveries yet.

This version of getting infinite lives is complicated, precise and requires the skills of not only our champion Mario, but his slender brother Luigi.

The adventure begins from World 1-1. The heroic Mario makes his way through the first level and emerges from the pipe at World 1-2. His life is then sacrificed for the greater good (infinite lives) on the first enemies he faces.

infinite 1

Luigi’s turn comes up next, and he uses a warp pipe trick in 1-2 to go to World 5.

infinite 2

He makes it through to 5-2, where he causes the beanstalk to grow. He slowly climbs part way up but purposefully sacrifices himself to the hammer from a hammer brother.

infinite 3

At this point, we go back to Mario where…a beanstalk sprouts in front of him?!? It looks to be the magical beanstalk from level 5-2, magically linked to level 1-2. It’s with this beanstalk that the infinite lives trick begins!

infinite 5

Mario scoots up and down on the beanstalk bouncing the beetle shells beneath him and racking up the lives until time runs out.

infinite 6
How does someone come up with a play like that?!? Surely there’s some trickery at work here? Either way, kudos to Games Haya for finding a new way to show how much better he is at Super Mario Bros. than the rest of us.

Move over, Ghostbusters! Help Luigi suck up the supernatural in Luigi’s Mansion Arcade 【Trailer】

luigimansionarcade5

As you made have already heard, this year marks the 30th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., and although we’ve seen all sorts of cool Mario collaborations, it was starting to look like Luigi was getting left out of all the action.

Fortunately Luigi fans will have something to look forward to as Capcom and Sega have teamed up create the first arcade version of the Luigi’s Mansion series, simply titled Luigi’s Mansion Arcade.

Loyal Nintendo fans may remember the original Luigi’s Mansion that was released for Nintendo GameCube back in 2001. Although the game did extremely well overseas, it was a total flop in Japan.

Nintendo later tried again with a 3DS sequel, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon (Luigi Mansion 2 in Japanese), managing to win over the hearts of Japanese and worldwide gamers alike. Luigi is equipped with the Poltergust 5000, a vacuum that appears to have more sucking power than a Dyson, along with a strobulb to help him stun and catch ghosts. The more ghosts players suck up, the more coins they collect as Luigi makes his way through different haunted mansions.

The idea for Luigi Mansion Arcade was proposed following the sequel’s success, and so far it doesn’t seem to deviate very much from the 3DS release. Check out Capcom’s trailer for the game below.

Perhaps the coolest thing about this new arcade version is that it arms players with a real life-size Poltergust 5000 to help Luigi fight off the supernatural. Unfortunately photography during Japanese beta testing was strictly prohibited, but we imagine they look something like this:

luigimansionarcade6

Using the Poltergust is simple, and according to a second game play explanation video, all you need to do is follow these four steps.

luigimansionarcade2
luigimansionarcade3
luigimansionarcade4

You can watch the video in full for more tips and techniques below. One cool point is that when there’s two players, if one player continues, the second player gets a full life boost, too.

Unlike many of the other horror-style shooting games that have become a staple at Japanese game centers, this looks like one that everyone can enjoy. No word on an exact release date yet, but the game is supposed to hit Japanese arcades this summer.

The Super Mario Brothers take a warp pipe to the land of Rimpa art

rinpa 1

What happens when you cross Nintendo’s Super Mario with a respected art form from Japanese history? Is it a brand new Mario Paint game? Nope, although that would be pretty cool.

What you actually get is the famous Rimpa folding screen “Wind and Thunder Godsremade with Mario and Luigi. The results are so fantastic that it’s being put on display at a special exhibit at the Art Museum Eki Kyoto. Join us after the jump for all the juicy Mario art details.

The Rimpa school of Japanese painting dates back to the 17th century when it was created by Hon’ami Koetsu and Tawaraya Sotatsu. It was the latter who created the most famous piece done in the style, the “Fujin Raijin-zu” or “Wind and Thunder Gods”. This pair of epic folding screens depicts the two gods looking battle-ready, prepared to take on anyone who dares to cross their path. The screens are currently on display at the Kyoto National Museum and are regarded as national treasures.

▼ You, with the camera! Let’s go!

rinpa 3Flickr/photoantenna

In order to celebrate 400 years of Rimpa and 30 years of Super Mario Bros., Japanese video game giant Nintendo teamed up with Yamamoto Taro, one of the modern successors of Rimpa, to create a new masterpiece with a twist.

rinpa 1

Mario and Luigi are dressed up like the old wind and thunder gods with flowing robes and cool god-like hair. Yamamoto painstakingly created the new folding screens strictly following the Rimpa techniques and you can really appreciate the bold outlines and striking color schemes represented on the modern remake.

You can get up close to the real thing when it goes on display as part of an exhibit that celebrates 400 years of Rimpa at the Art Museum Eki Kyoto located at the JR Kyoto Isetan department store on the seventh floor. Attendees can catch a glimpse of this piece of gaming art alongside other Rimpa masterpieces for a limited time only. Don’t miss your chance to see a brand new “national treasure” before it is whisked away for safe keeping in the secret vaults deep below Nintendo headquarters.

Anyone who has spent a lengthy session playing Mario Kart will know what it’s like to start imagining elements of the game in their daily lives. Any time you’re controlling something with four wheels, you almost wish you had some in-game items to make the drive a little easier. Driving around and some jerk cuts you off? Red shell! Some idiot driving two feet from your rear end because he wants to go faster? Banana peel! Stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic and about to be late for work? Boom, Starman!

For this longboarder, he might not need special items to clear his way, but he certainly imagines his cruising life like a Mario Kart game as he battles his brother for speed supremacy.

With an electric longboard from Boosted Boards, some bumping music from Savant and sweet visual FX, CorridorDigital brings Mario Kart to life on our screens in a whole new way. This isn’t the first time the YouTube channel has brought video games to life, but their most recent video does it in satisfying fashion.

Forever the second best Mario brother, Luigi attempts to beat Mario’s track record on a punishing street course. It’s got a Thwomp, a Bullet Bill and even a menacing green shell that threatens to knock Luigi off course.

Luigi cruises over the finish line with the help of a friendly little mushroom and just beats his brother’s time.

But his victory is short-lived as Mario quickly puts up an even faster time, one that is over three seconds faster! It’s just never quite good enough when you’ve got a brother who has starred in way more games than you have. Alas, the game is called Mario Kart, not Luigi Longboard.

October 31 is quickly approaching and for those of us who don’t have our costumes or decorations ready yet, you’d best hurry. Sure there are plenty of last-minute costumes and decorations you can scrounge up, but don’t be surprised if it doesn’t compare to something meticulously planned out.

A carved pumpkin is one decoration you can complete in a few hours, but if you really want to lure the trick-or-treaters, you have to go the extra mile. Check out this amazing pumpkin that shows us the day in the life of lovable Luigi and his haunted mansion. It would look awesome on your front porch, and even more so with a special little addition.

All it takes to make a Jack-o’-lantern is a couple of triangles and some circles, but people have been very creative in the past few years utilizing the thick walls of the pumpkin to carve out an image that truly glows thanks to the candle in the middle. DeviantArtist Ceemee has been posting a number of pumpkins that often feature a gaming theme, but one of her past creations has been getting a lot of publicity recently.

Ceemdee used stencils, X-acto blades, and some serious skills when carving on the pumpkin. Just look at how intricate her slices are, as well as the control she must need to get the different depths.

Perhaps the coolest part, though, is how she combines a Boo carving with the Luigi. Shining behind Luigi thanks to a LED, the accompanying effect sets this pumpkin far and above the rest.

The original creator of Mario shows us how easy it is to play Nintendo’s first smartphone game, Super Mario Run.

Nintendo has announced the December release of its first smartphone game featuring the one and only Mario. Shigeru Miyamoto, “the father of Mario”, introduces the basics of Super Mario Run in a new video while working out and eating a hamburger.

Miyamoto demonstrates that even busy people can still download and play Super Mario Run. Whether you’re working out at the gym or shaking the hand of some foreigner you can still continue playing the game. Or probably most importantly, you can still play even if you’re “holding onto a handle on the train”. Miyamoto shows us that he can even eat a hamburger while collecting coins.

screen-shot-2016-09-15-at-4-20-07-pm

Miyamoto also gives us a basic run down on the “new style for Mario gameplay”.

“In this game, Mario runs on his own so you can play it one-handed. And Mario will also hurdle small enemies and small gaps on his own as well making it very comfortable to play,” says Miyamoto.

▼ This video provides a bit of a closer look at the gameplay.

Here’s how some internet commenters reacted to Miyamoto’s video:

“Miyamoto looks really well, doesn’t he?”
“That looks like a delicious hamburger!!!!!”
“The game style looks pretty standard, but I can’t wait to see the reaction for something made by ‘Super Mario’.”

Miyamoto encourages everyone to “take on this new challenge”. Will you be playing one-handed Mario when it’s released?

Nintendo announces new Lego Luigi set, and Japan gets it first【Photos, video】

Super Mario’s brother is ready to show he’s super too!

Though its title has gradually transitioned to just Super Mario, originally Nintendo’s flagship franchise was called Super Mario Bros., since the platforming plumber’s brother Luigi is a hero in his own right. Now, in his latest demonstration that he can keep up with his more famous sibling, Luigi is getting his own Lego set!

Following up on the Lego Super Mario set that launched last summer, the new Lego Super Mario Adventures with Luigi Starter Course is an interactive toy that seeks to combine the creative design elements of Lego blocks with the obstacle course-like challenge of a Super Mario level. Lego Luigi has LCD screen eye and overalls plus a speaker, allowing him to change his facial expression and chatter away in his friendly voice as he encounters friends and foes on his way to level-ending flagpole.

▼ Preview video for the Lego Luigi set

The 280-piece set includes, obviously, Luigi himself, plus a Pink Yoshi and, for enemies, a Bone Goomba and Boom Boom. Further dangers await in the form of spinning seesaw pieces and an interactive question mark block.

▼ Oh, and if you’re wondering if Luigi is just a recolored Mario (like he was in the original Super Mario Bros. video game), don’t worry, as their Lego versions do have different facial features and mustaches.

In the U.S., the Lego Super Mario Adventures with Luigi Starter Course is available for pre-order now through the Lego website here, priced at US$59.99 and with shipping scheduled for August 1. However, in a parallel to the way Nintendo’s games used to come out in Japan before they came out overseas, the Lego Luigi set will be released in Japan almost a month earlier, on July 10, with pre-orders starting through the Lego Rakuten online shop later today.

Lush x Super Mario Bros Movie collaboration NIntendo goods bath bombs cute anime goods news marchandise photos

Slather your body in Mario and Luigi and immerse yourself in the game world…literally!

When you think about anime or game-related goods, you might think the best place to get them is in Japan. While you’d be right most of the time, that isn’t the case with the latest round of limited-edition Mario Bros. goods, because fans in Japan will have to wait until 18 April to get their hands on the new limited-edition collection, which is over three weeks later than fans overseas.

The late release in Japan is likely due to the local release date for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which this new collection is in celebration of. While the movie will be released on 5 April in countries like the U.S., U.K., Australia and Canada, here in Japan, the movie is set to screen on 28 April.

While the wait may be frustratingly long for fans in Japan, it looks set to be worth it, because this collection is designed to bring the world of Super Mario Bros into the bathroom, with 12 specially designed Lush goods featuring characters and items from the movie.

The star of the show here is the Question Block Bath Bomb, which will retail in Japan for 2,400 yen (US$18.43).

As you might expect, these bath bombs come with one of six different mystery items inside, so that once it fizzes away in the bath, your special item will be revealed.

The items that can be found inside the Question Block are, clockwise, below, from top to bottom: Coin (in the Honey I Washed The Kids scent); Mini Mushroom Power Up (Avocado Co Wash scent); Ice Flower Power Up (Outback Mate scent); Big Mushroom Power Up (Big scent); Star Power Up (Sexy Peel scent); Fire Flower Power Up (Cinders scent)

▼ A lush way to power up after a hard day.

Fans who want to slather their bodies in their favourite characters can do so with the Mario and Luigi shower gels, which are appropriately coloured and available in three sizes: 110 grams (3.8 ounces) for 1,200 yen, 280 grams for 2,400 yen and 560 grams for 4,000 yen.

▼ Mario’s gel contains fruity, spicy notes of lime, black pepper and pomegranate

▼ Luigi’s gel is filled with the scent of apples.

Princess Peach and Bowser are available in Shower Jelly form, with peach scents for the princess and cinnamon, cloves and star anise for Bowser.

▼ Each one is available in a choice of two sizes: 100 grams (1,000 yen) or 240 grams (2,000 yen).

▼ Princess Peach will also keep you smelling peachy all day with the Body Spray for 5,100 yen.

And rounding out the collection we have the Gold Coin Soap (860 yen), which wraps you in the scent of crème brulée and promises to enrich both your body and soul.

While people in Japan will have to wait for the collection to appear in stores and online from 14 April, fans overseas will be able to enjoy the range from 24 March.

So let us know what it’s like, overseas fans! We’ll be pacing ourselves in the meantime by playing Super Mario Bros. as a three-person co-op game, like we did back in 2021.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder insulated cups coming to 7-Eleven Japan

$

Too bad there’s no Bowser one or I would have copped a Koopa cup of that.

The Super Mario franchise has been around so long that the main characters have appeared in countless video games, movies, and ice cream. So it’s probably safe to say that we’ve all crossed paths with the pudgy plumbers in one way or another, and I’m sure we’ve all had the same thought when looking at their curvy physiques: “You know, if I tore off his head and limbs, he’d make a pretty swell tumbler.”

Well, now this psychopathic dream will become a reality with the release of the Super Mario Tumbler Book on 12 October. The reason it’s called a “book” is that it comes with some kind of pamphlet that allows it to be classified as a book and thus displayed on the magazine racks of a convenience store which in this case is 7-Elevens nationwide.

They come in the torsos of either Mario or Luigi for 2,959 yen (US$20) each and the designs are deceptively simple yet detailed, right down to the subtly different shades of blue used in each brother’s overalls.

Each cup is made of steel and can hold about 320 milliliters (11 ounces). The design is vacuum insulated to keep your beverage at an optimal temperature and also keep condensation from forming on cold drinks, making them great for workspaces.

▼ That Compaq Presario is safe and sound!

These limited-edition cups are being sold to commemorate the launch of Super Mario Wonder for Nintendo Switch on 20 October. The titular “book” that comes with each cup will offer a look at the upcoming game and other details.

So, be sure to pick up a cup from one of the many 7-Elevens that carry it or order it directly from the website of its distributor Takarajimasha. Hopefully, next time, the company will answer the question on everyone’s mind — whether or not tearing off Sonic the Hedgehog‘s head would make for a decent toothbrush holder.

The returning Super Star Sundae gets a visual upgrade but still maintains its delicious Brick Block and Super Star chocolate toppings.

● Super Mario Double Sundae (1,380 yen)

This year’s menu also includes a Double Sundae option with Coin and Yoshi’s Egg chocolates.

● Wonder Flower Crush Soda (750 yen)

This dessert drink combines crushed ice, grape-flavored syrup, soda, jelly, and a scoop of your favorite ice cream. The different textures and flavors reflect the Wonder Flower’s powers aptly, as it does strange things to Mario characters.

● Question Block Ice Cream Set (small 2,880 yen, regular 3,580 yen)

Surprise someone–or yourself, if you’re forgetful–with a Question Block set that includes eight ice cream flavors of your choosing.

It also comes with a small Question Block-shaped picnic tarp!

● Super Mario Variety Box (1,280-4,200 yen)

You can choose from four, six, eight, or twelve flavors in different Mario-themed boxes with this set.

● Luigi’s Mansion 31 Deco Cake (4,800 yen)

This cake-and-ice-cream set lets you decorate a cake with six ice cream flavors of your choosing and Luigi’s Mansion-themed spooky decorations.

● Super Mario Palette 6 (4,000 yen)

Another upgrade from last year’s menu, the 2024 Palette Ice Cream Cake has six Mario characters instead of just three! Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach, Daisy, and Yoshi are along for the ride. Flavor-wise, it includes the following: Vanilla Cookie ice cream with chocolate sponge cake; Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream with white sponge cake; Popping Shower ice cream with white sponge cake; Caramel Ribbon ice cream with chocolate sponge cake; Chocolate Flake ice cream with chocolate sponge cake; and Love Potion 31 ice cream with white sponge cake.

As a final bonus, you can receive a free sticker by using the GPS check-in function at a Baskin-Robbins on the My Nintendo app!

And that’s a wrap on this year’s Super Mario collaboration. Everything hits stores on June 28, so get ready to cool down with Mario!

Luigi set to star in Family Mart’s latest collab event with exclusive sandwiches and blankets

Player 2 ready.

Sidekicks don’t get more reliable than Luigi, and I say that because he’s one of the few that could easily murder the franchise’s main character and assume their identity without a lot of people being any the wiser. In fact, I think the Luigi’s Mansion series is an alternate timeline where he actually did that and ended up in a Silent Hill-style hell in which he must confront his past sins.

But my fan fiction aside, convenience store Family Mart is set to honor Mario’s little brother starting 20 August with an array of Luigi-themed goods and prizes across Japan. It stands to reason too, since Luigi and Family Mart both share the same color palette of green, blue, and white.

Green is also the main theme of this campaign’s centerpiece products, starting with the Luigi’s Green Vegetable Sandwich for 350 yen (US$2.40). It’s a diagonally sliced sandwich filled with boiled chicken, boiled egg, little bits of broccoli, egg salad, and lettuce. Honestly, there are not so many vegetables in that Vegetable Sandwich, which is just the way I like them!

For the Luigi fan who prefers hot foods, there’s the Luigi’s Screamingly Spicy Green Curry Flavor Ramen for 228 yen. This instant ramen has bits of chicken, spinach, and cabbage and its spiciness is inspired by the terror he experiences in Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, a sticker of which is included in each cup.

Also, by purchasing a Luigi’s Green Vegetable Sandwich or other sandwich, burger, or applicable bread-utilizing food and showing the Family Mart FamiPay app, you get one stamp, with the number of stamps you collect making you eligible to win prizes. If you get two stamps, you could be one of 100 recipients of 500 FamiMa Points worth 500 yen for shopping at Family Mart. Get four stamps and you might just be one of 20 lucky winners of a Luigi soup container.

Collecting eight stamps can enter you to win one of five Luigi suitcases, so you can share your love of Luigi as you travel the globe.

▼ I’m wondering if a Luigi suitcase would be more or less likely to be stolen…

And even if sandwiches aren’t your thing, there are other ways to win Luigi swag too. Just buying a small bottle of Tully’s Black Coffee or Suntory Vitamin Water will score you one of four Luigi keychains, just like that!

Not only that but from 27 August, buying two specially marked instant noodles or snacks will earn you one of four Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD file folders.

And from 5 September, the prize switches to Luigi stickers, each covering a different game he’s appeared in.

What? You want even more ways to win? Boy, you’re greedy, but all right! If you also show the FamiPay app while buying just one of these specially marked items, you will get one stamp good for a completely different Luigi contest.

A hundred prizes of 500 FamiMa Points is again up for grabs for two stamps, but this time four stamps will give you a chance to win one of 20 sets of two Luigi plates.

And a collection of eight stamps can enter you to win one of five Luigi blankets.

Not only that, but by simply going to a Family Mart and doing a GPS check-in on your My Nintendo app, you get an exclusive Luigi wallpaper for free.

Oh? You still want more? Ugh, I’m getting a little tired of this, but all right! If you decide to buy a download card for the game Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD from Family Mart and register it on the contest website, you can win one of 100 plush toy sets of Luigi and Polterpup.

It certainly looks like Family Mart is going all out for their brother in color, so check out a store near you for a rare chance to see Luigi in the spotlight by himself and maybe pick up some of their kickass mint chocolate stuff while you’re at it.
